Living in Vermont is exciting strange. There are some truly beautiful things about Vermont. Starting with the green. I never knew the color green could be so beautiful. The mountains in this state are awe-inspiring. I also love the uncluttered appearance. Not a billboard or skyscraper in sight.

The thing I love most about living in Vermont? People actually STOP their cars for pedestrians. It is UNBELIEVABLE. People see pedestrians waiting patiently on the side of the road and stop. Even if there is no crosswalk. Even if there are no other cars behind them. Being a pedestrian in New York State is like taking your life into your own hands. Being a pedestrian in Vermont is freakin' sweet.

Though the drivers are polite to pedestrians, Vermont drivers seem to have let their laid-back, green lifestyle affect their relationship with the gas pedal. Namely, everyone drives as if they left their houses an hour earlier than they should have. To make matters worse, the roads are in complete disrepair. Potholes, crappy patch jobs and no yellow or white lines on most roads.

And another thing... let it be known that the Shaw's in Montpelier has the SLOWEST checkout of any grocery store I have ever been in. I live about a half mile from the grocery store. The other night, it took me 45 minutes to buy a can opener. I could have opened the can faster with my teeth.

The beautiful landscape mostly makes up for the gripes I have. And this will just make Florida seem even better. Though moving will bring its own stresses (moving van, boxes, LOTS of paperwork), I am confident that I will look back fondly on Vermont but never with to move back.
