Learned yet another shortcut to the Berlin Mall today. I swear, there are two thousand ways to get to that thing. Since it's the only Wal-Mart within a 30 mile radius of my apartment there are many, many trips made there.
Ate at another New To Me restaurant. Angelino's on Barre St. Fairly good Italian eatery. Good chicken wings, good pizza, good root beer. Probably could forget I ever ate there... except... the waiter was a young Dwight K. Schrute. NO JOKE. He was like, 14 and WAS the embodiment of a young Dwight. Awkward, strange pauses and an unnatural cadence to his voice. Big eyebrows, thin lips... I'm telling you, this kid was entertaining without even trying. So yeah, I will be back. And I will bring Office-loving friends.

Julio's
Visiting Vermont may not be number one on 1,000 places to see before you die.... but if you ever come to Montpelier, please stop at Julio's. Their margaritas are AWESOME!!!! And their appetizer sampler platter is spicy deliciousness at its best.
FYI... I never knew how much alcohol was in a margarita until I went to stand up after dinner and felt like I had three drinks instead of just that one.

Update Much?
No, I don't update my blog much, but I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to write...
yeah, that's pretty much the biggest lie I've ever told.
A number of not-so-hot things have happened this week.
1) Blake almost died in a tragic road rage incident. He passed another car on the right and the other driver got so mad that he proceeded to tailgate Blake for miles and miles of highway, spicing it up once in awhile by pulling alongside Blake like some kind of late night drag race. Blake got off at the wrong exit so the crazy guy couldn't find out where we live. The crazy driver was in the passing lane, saw Blake start to exit and raced over behind Blake, hit the gas like he was going to rear-end him and then right before collision, Captain A-Hole von Jerk Face sped out of the exit lane and into oblivion. I hope oblivion has anger management classes.
2) The guys got in a fight. Not a physical fight... worse. Mental anguish. Tuesday night was possibly the most awkward night of my life. Luckily, it all sorted itself out the next day. Really, Blake wouldn't have been upset by our other roommate if not for...
3) We got the news that we will be here until October. Wow. We thought we would be here until mid-July, tops. So Blake was in a pisser of a mood all day. The next day he had calmed a little, but really, not much. So I set up an interview with a local temp agency for Tuesday.
BUT
Blake is in a better mood now because we may not have to stay here that long after all. One of our friends got his orders for Florida already and helped us get in touch with a lieutenent in the flight office at Pensacola. Turns out, they need office help so she is trying to get Blake's orders written quickly so we can go to Florida after all. Which would be wonderful. WONDERFUL
So, things aren't terrible, in fact, they're pretty good.

Too Darn Hot
Blake and I went to the mall today just for the air conditioning. I hope it cools down by tonight. I have big plans for shrimp alfredo but in this heat cooking anything will be an uphill battle.
Even the heat and humidity cannot dampen my mood. Hillary has finally, officially dropped out. Of course I'm kind of sad for her, but I'm more happy for myself and the rest of America.
Now I'm off to eat my second popsicle of the day. :)

WATCH
In case you missed it....
Carrier- http://www.pbs.org/weta/carrier/
Please watch Carrier on PBS. It was amazing and fascinating for me, not only as the wife of an aspiring Naval Aviator, but as an American. I cannot remember when I have learned so much from a television program. The relationships between shipmates is easily the most fascinating thing, but watching planes take off and landing is also just plain fun. The entire, ten episode series is available online. If you can't watch the entire thing, at least watch Episode 7, Chapters 4 and 5 ("Swells" and "Bolter Bolter Bolter"). More than twenty minutes of spinchter-tightening action.

Living in Vermont is exciting strange. There are some truly beautiful things about Vermont. Starting with the green. I never knew the color green could be so beautiful. The mountains in this state are awe-inspiring. I also love the uncluttered appearance. Not a billboard or skyscraper in sight.
The thing I love most about living in Vermont? People actually STOP their cars for pedestrians. It is UNBELIEVABLE. People see pedestrians waiting patiently on the side of the road and stop. Even if there is no crosswalk. Even if there are no other cars behind them. Being a pedestrian in New York State is like taking your life into your own hands. Being a pedestrian in Vermont is freakin' sweet.
Though the drivers are polite to pedestrians, Vermont drivers seem to have let their laid-back, green lifestyle affect their relationship with the gas pedal. Namely, everyone drives as if they left their houses an hour earlier than they should have. To make matters worse, the roads are in complete disrepair. Potholes, crappy patch jobs and no yellow or white lines on most roads.
And another thing... let it be known that the Shaw's in Montpelier has the SLOWEST checkout of any grocery store I have ever been in. I live about a half mile from the grocery store. The other night, it took me 45 minutes to buy a can opener. I could have opened the can faster with my teeth.
The beautiful landscape mostly makes up for the gripes I have. And this will just make Florida seem even better. Though moving will bring its own stresses (moving van, boxes, LOTS of paperwork), I am confident that I will look back fondly on Vermont but never with to move back.
