Today is my first full day as a married woman.
I got married yesterday in a county court with my parents and Blake's parents as witnesses.
Surprise.
Our officiant isn't authorized to perform legal marriages so Blake and I spent most of Monday getting our license and tracking down a judge.
I got married on my lunch break. We met our parents at the court, got married, took a few pictures and then went out to lunch. Then... I went back to work and Blake went to Albany Airport to go to D.C.
I spent my wedding night watching American Idol with my parents. Blake spent it in a complete dump hole of a hotel on a highway in D.C.
It's kind of a funny story. It's difficult to feel married when I'm sitting at work and haven't spoken to Blake all day. I don't even get to wear my wedding ring until Sunday. Still, my last name is different and the memories of the judge pronouncing us Mr. and Mrs. make me smile. So I am married now. And I am very happy about it. It's not a secret, but Blake asked me not to change our Facebooks until after Sunday.

Bursting Out
It has been the busiest six days of my life and the fun won't stop for another couple of weeks. Last weekend was Joe McCarthy's graduation party in Connecticut. It was super fun... Here is a quick run down. Blake and I got there and not long after, everyone from Norwich was playing wiffle ball... using the kegs as bases. It was pretty spectacular. But, my friends, that is not the best thing... oh no no. Here is THE story of the night:
When Blake and I arrived at Joe's house, Joe told us we could crash there for the night. He showed us to a bedroom and said that the only thing we had to know is that in the back of the closet, there is a door that leads to his parents' room. No big deal, it's way in the back and covered by clothes and things.
So, Blake and I went to sleep at 9pm. We'd had a long few days and all of his friends were sneaking off into dark corners to get drunk some more. So, we retired, locked the doors and went to sleep.
We are SOUND ASLEEP when suddenly, Joe, crazy-crazy-crazy-drunk, comes bursting out of the closet with a blow-up beach ball under his arms, saying things that only half make sense in a really loud voice. "Hey you kids should come outside and hang with us! What are you doing in bed? Come back outside!!" He sits down on the bed and Blake tries to calmly tell him that we are sleeping and do not want to go drink.
All of a sudden, there is a pounding on the door. Joe's mom, Arline starts yelling, "Joe! You open this door right now! You have had too much to drink. GET OUT of there!" Joe yells back, "Relax mom, there are people sleeping in here!" Arline goes quiet and Joe and Blake continue their back and forth. A few seconds later, we hear a whisper from the closet... "Joseph, you get out of that room right now. Joseph! Joseph! Get out of there and leave those people alone!" So, Joe leaves via the actual bedroom door.
Blake and I just look at each other and laugh. We try going back to sleep, but Blake decides to get us a drink of water. He opens the door and we hear Joe's dad, "Joseph, you have had too much alcohol. You are embarrassing yourself. You drink too much..." Blake closed the door on the stern talking-to and we went back to sleep. It was an interesting weekend.

This Weekend... Next Weekend
Busy. Lots n' lots of things to do. This weekend we're going to Connecticut for one of Blake's friend's grad parties. Yes... we are driving 3 1/2 hours to go to a party which will probably only last that long. Then we are staying in a hotel and driving 3 1/2 hours back. I don't know if I have time to do that, but I just don't think about it...
I am sending money every which way to a ton of vendors for the wedding. I can't believe that a week from today is the wedding rehearsal. And then, the big day. Blake and I are getting our marriage license Monday. Three days from now we are getting our marriage license. I can't believe it's actually happening.
I don't know when I started imagining being married to Blake. He thought about it before I did. I was afraid to jinx it, afraid that if I actually started to believe we would be married then all of a sudden he would discover that he actually hated my guts. But I guess he loves my guts!
I guess I should get back to work. Probably.

Oh man, tidal wave
It all starts at 4:00. I will be leaving work and stepping into a gigantic bubble... a bubble of happiness and chaos... the wedding bubble.
Not part of the wedding bubble, but part of the chaos is this: I am going with my mom to Schmyrna, NY after work to see my baby sister. Yes, you thought I was the youngest, but haha, I tricked you. I have two younger sisters (soon to be three). They are all shorter, dumber and vastly more entertaining than I am. In fact, they are a different species. My mother loves her dogs... like they are her children. Last night the puppies were born and my mother is beside herself wanting to go. I am going so she doesn't have to drive alone. We'll probably get back at 8 or 8:30 and then I will be making chocolate chip cookies for Blake.
Tomorrow is graduation. Wow. Tomorrow. This is crazy. I have been planning for this weekend and the next few weekends for a year now, trying to get everything sorted out and the timing just right. And now... it's actually here.
Hopefully I'll make it back from graduation before 5p.m. so I can go to Vermont tomorrow night. Otherwise, I'll be leaving at 5a.m. on Sunday. Not a good thing.
Monday and Tuesday I'll be helping Blake move into the apartment. I can't wait to get a gander at it as I'll probably be living there for a month or so myself... maybe. We get to pick out furniture, which should be pretty fun. Laying on mattresses, comparing prices of dining sets. Very... homey and very adult.
I can't wait!

Flurry
A lot of activity at the Chamber today. A press conference followed by pizza, salad and wings. It's nice to have so much life in the Chamber. Usually it's just the four of us and it's really too quiet. The man who delivered the pizza is an adorable, Italian man who said all kinds of English and Italian things. He was loud and his food was awesome.
But now it's quiet again. We tried to have the door open and let the fresh air in, but the buses kept blowing exhaust and a couple of trains went by. So... now we have the door closed and it's pretty hot, but at least we can hear each other talking. But we can also hear our own breathing, which can be distracting.
No, actually, the breathing is fine. Hearing people in the restroom is what's really distracting. Especially, oh man, there is this one guy who must have started smoking when he was like, in the womb. He goes in there at least three times a day and hacks loogies up for like, two minutes straight. I don't know if he makes his deposits in the toilet or in the sink. Frankly, neither is acceptable.

Closer and Closer
It's getting closer and closer. I am so excited, more so every day. Even today, when I can't see, hear or smell because my allergies are crazy bad. I want to fast forward to the wedding, though I know I would regret it afterward.
I don't know what I would do without work. I would probably go insane waiting for things to happen this weekend.
It's all happening and I only had one freak out. :)

Interview with Myself
Presenting.
An interview with myself made of entirely of questions that people have asked me lately.
Q: So, you're going to be pretty busy now, huh?
A: Not true actually, for the next three weeks I will have nothing to do but breathe through my mouth.
Q: You're kidding, right?
A: Yes. I have quite a few commitments for work that require going in early or staying late. I also graduate on Saturday and then I'm driving to Vermont for Blake's graduation on Sunday. I'm going to stay Monday and Tuesday in Vermont to help Blake settle in to his apartment. Then, it's dresses, flowers, music, marriage license, rehearsal and wedding.
Q: Are you nervous?
A: Heeeeeeellz yeah!
Q: Second thoughts?
A: Not about the marriage, but about the actual wedding and getting everything done. But don't worry, I work well under pressure and I'm uber-organized. Plus I have great family and friends who have nothing better to do than bow to my every Bridezilla whim. Yeah, NOT.
Q: I have no idea what to wear to your wedding.
A: That is not a question and frankly, I cannot help you with that. Sorry.
Q:Do you have your dress?
A: Not in my possession. It is sitting in the dress shop, along with the bridesmaids dresses, until next week. It will probably be safer there. Though, with the recent rash of devastating fires in Fulton and Montgomery counties, I try to picture my dress being kept somewhere much safer, like heaven.
Q: Are you excited?
A: SO excited. I can live without this coming weekend though. The craziness of two graduations and helping Blake move is quickly draining my sanity. I only have so much you know. But I'm looking forward to the day of the wedding, where I can just be happy.
Q: So what are you doing after you get married?
A: Maybe Vermont, maybe Florida, definitely crazy-town. We won't know until at least May 22nd, but probably after.
Q: Do you need any help with anything?
A:Thanks, but no.
Wow. I feel better.
